Issues raised around Emperor typically concern their proximity to Burzum's Varg Vikernes in the early Norwegian black metal milieu and the murder in 1992 by drummer Faust of Magne Andreassen, a gay man who allegedly propositioned him and for which he served 9 years in prison. Outside of these things and some younger edgelord stuff, there doesn't seem to be much to report.
