| Ukraine's history of occupation and resistance makes disentangling liberationist progressive nationalism from reactionary conservative nationalism challenging, and, combined with the relatively small scene, finding consistently "clean" individuals is hard. Drudkh are concerned with Ukranian history and folklore. Much of their material is patoral and nationalistic in a more or less wholesome sepia-toned sense. However, tributes to the Ukranian Insurgent Army, who fought the Nazis and the Soviets, but also massacred Poles in what is considered a genocide are hard to ignore. Notably, the band features guitarist / bassist, Roman Saenko, whose band Hate Forest is straightforwardly Nazi and to which vocalist Roman "Thurios" Blagih has contributed repeatedly.
